Análisis de los temas finalistas

Con menos tiempo disponible del que me hubiera gustado aquí estamos para finalizar el análisis de los 39 países que estarán el próximo mes en Malmö y del que saldrá un nuevo ganador. Veamos hoy al grupo del Big 5 y del anfitrión.

1. ALEMANIA - Cascada - "Glorious"

 

Reconozco que la preselección alemana ha sido la que más he disfrutado junto al Melodi sueco y es que me encantó esa combinación de estilos en la pre alemana. Excepto uno, todos los temas a concurso me encantaron. Pero yo tenía a mi favorita: Natalie Horler, a quien conocía desde hace años porque sus canciones sonaban en todos los gimnasios nacionales a ritmo de bodypump. 

Natalie Horler forma parte de la banda Cascada junto a los productores DJ Manian y Yanou. Es una de las bandas alemanas más en forma y se formó en 2004, con un gran éxito de ventas tanto en Europa como en los Estados Unidos. Por lo tanto, será una de las representaciones que más seguidores tendrá en Malmö.

"Glorious" es uno de esos temas eurodance que parece que uno ha escuchado antes. Una vez superados los problemas de acusación de plagio respecto al tema ganador del año pasado "Euphoria", los mismos compositores de éste tema han desmentido que se trate de un plagio. Natalie nos ofrece un directo efectivo que busca poner al publico a bailar y convertir el estadio de Malmö en una pista de baile. Reconozco que yo no soy imparcial con Cascada y el eurodance porque confieso una debilidad hacia el grupo y este tipo de música.

Valoración personal: si tengo en cuenta mis gustos éste es el tema que más me gusta de este año aunque soy consciente de que lo tiene difícil para ganar. Sin duda, nos ofrecerá un gran espectáculo en directo. 9 puntos.

2. ESPAÑA - ESDM - "Contigo hasta el final"

Está claro que RTVE está recortando de todos los lados y le ha venido bien el acuerdo con la discográfica de El Sueño de Morfeo para que sea este grupo el que nos represente en Suecia. Raquel del Rosario, Juan Luis Suárez y David Feito es el trío que compone esta formación pop rock con influencias folk desde 2005.

"Contigo hasta el final" es el tema elegido en la gala interna que nos ofreció TVE y del que puedo destacar los maravillosos paisajes de Llanes que podemos disfrutar en el videoclip. Es un tema agradable para estar relajado pero no para un festival. Creo que es una representación para cumplir el expediente y no nos espera un gran resultado. La solista debe de mejorar esa pasión en directo y es que este trío me transmite muy poco. Tengo la sensación de que escuchada una de sus canciones has escuchado todas. Quizás sea injusto, lo sé, pero es que no ha sido la elección más acertada.

Mi valoración personal: independientemente de que nunca me haya llamado la atención este grupo creo que es una representación sosa y que pasará completamente desapercibida. ¡Ojalá me equivoque! 5 puntos.

3. FRANCIA - Amandine Bourgeois - "L'enfer et moi"

Amandine Bourgeois es una cantante francesa que saltó a la fama en 2008 cuando ganó la sexta edicón del concurso de talentos Nouvelle Star. Nació en la localidad de Angulema el 6 de junio de 1979 y ha sido elegida internamente por la televisión francesa. 

"L'enfer et moi" es un tema de calidad compuesto por David Salkin y escrito por Boris Bergman y que enmarcan dentro del género "Chanson française". Este año Francia ha vuelto a apostar por una joven promesa aunque con un tema más discreto que en años anteriores. Gustará pero me temo que también pasará desapercibido.

Mi valoración personal: El tema francés me transmite poca cosa. Tenía una espectativa alta viendo anteriores representaciones pero se esfumaron cuando pude ver el primer directo. No es mal tema pero no me emociona. 6,5 puntos

4. ITALIA - Marco Mengoni - "L'Essenziale"

Marco Mengoni nació en 1988 y es un cantante italiano que alcanzó la fama en 2009 al ganar la tercera temporada de la versión italiana de Factor X. Al año siguiente consiguió finalizar en el tercer puesto del Festival de San Remo con el tema "Credimi ancora" y en 2010 ganó el premio MTV al mejor artista europeo. Finalmente, en una carrera meteórica, este año ha conseguido ganar la 63ª Edición del Festival de San Remo. 

"L'Essenziale" es una balada de estilo italiano de indiscutible calidad. Italia sabe ofrecer calidad a Eurovisión y lo ha demostrado desde su retorno y pone como aval los excelentes resultados obtenidos que espera repetir este año con Marco. Es una canción que envuelve, con gran encanto y seguro que obtendrá un excelente resultado en Malmö.

Mi valoración personal: Italia tiene certificado de origen de calidad y eso siempre viene bien a un festival de Eurovisión que ha sufrido representaciones esperpénticas. Reconocemos calidad y buen gusto a los italianos y tendrán su premio, seguro. 8,7 puntos. 

 5. REINO UNIDO - Bonnie Tyler - "Believe in me"

 

Si me refiero a Gaynor Hopkins seguro que casi nadie sabe quién es pero si digo Bonnie Tyler será reconocida inmediatamente por todos los que tenemos más de 35 años y es que la cantante galesa es una de las grandes atracciones de este año en Malmö. Su voz ronca y rasgada nos trae a la memoria grandes éxitos como "It's a Heartache" o "Total Eclypse of the Heart". 

"Believe in me" es una balada hecha a la medida de esta gran voz y en la que podrá demostrar que sigue en una gran forma a sus casi 62 años de edad. Es una melodía que va de menos a más y que nos logra envolver y permite disfrutar de un gran temazo. Sin duda, una gran decisión de la BBC. TVE debería tomar nota y ejemplo.

Mi valoración personal: si Bonnie Tyler tiene su noche puede repetir por UK el gran éxito que en su día tuvo Katrina & The Waves. Elección de altura y gran calidad. Felicitaciones a la BBC. 9 puntos.

 

6. SUECIA - Robin Stjernberg - "You"

Ni Yohio, ni Ulrik ni Anton. Será el joven Robin el que represente a Suecia como país anfitrión. Confieso que allí, en directo, me pilló de sorpresa y no esperaba que este chico ganase el pasaporte a Eurovisión. De hecho, todo el estadio enmudeció al conocer el resultado fnal porque todos dábamos por hecho que sería Yohio el representante. La culpa fue del jurado internacional y eso lo tienen muy presente los suecos. 

Este chico saltó al a fama en 2011 cuando finalizó en segundo lugar en el Idol sueco. Después publicó su primer sencillo y pasará a la historia porque ha sido el primero en la historia del Melodifestivalen que gana después de llegar desde el Andra Chansen o Segunda Oportunidad. 

"You" es un tema original y con una buena puesta en escena pero no me acaba de convencer el directo de Robin. Es significativa la expresión de su cara cuando le proclamaron ganador ya que ni él mismo parecia esperarlo. Es una canción que gusta más y más cuando más la escuchas.

Mi valoración personal: este chico pierde mucho en directo y le salvan los coros que le apoyan por detrás. Tiene tendencia a reflejar los nervios en su cara y creo que es demasiada responsabilidad para él cumplir como anfitrión este año. 8 puntos.

Semifinal 1: análisis de temas (4)

Finalizamos hoy el análisis de todos los países participantes en la Semifinal 1 del próximo Festival de Eurovisión.

13. PAÍSES BAJOS - Anouk - "Birds"

Anouk Teeuwe es una cantante y compositora neerlandesa que ha sido elegida por la televisión holandesa para representar al país en Eurovisión. Su madre es una cantante de blues que influyó en ella para que se dedicara a la música y cuenta con una gran carrera aún siendo tan joven habiendo publicado ya ocho álbumes.

"Birds" es el título de la canción que forma parte de su último álbum "Sad Singalong Songs" y ha sido escrita por Tore Johansson, Martin Gjerstad y la propia Anouk. Es un tema que nos lleva a la década de los 50 del pasado siglo y a mí, personalmente, me recuerda mucho a Lana del Rey. La canción tiene su encanto, es evocadora, está entre las favoritas pero no me parece original.

Mi valoración personal: A favor tiene una casi segura gran interpretación y en contra que es un tema que puede resultar trasnochado y poco original. 8 puntos

14. RUSIA - Dina Garipova - "What If"

Dina Fagimovna Garipova es una cantante rusa de descendencia tártara que ganó el pasado año la versión rusa del concurso "The Voice", llamado "Golos". Ese éxito ha llevado a la televisión rusa a elegirla para ser la representante del país en Eurovisión. 

"What If" es el título de la balada que nos ofrece para Eurovisión con una gran interpretación y una gran carga emotiva. Letra cargada de mensaje .Sin lugar a dudas me parece una de las mejores canciones de este año y creo que es una firme candidata a ganar Eurovisión 2013, apoyos seguro que no le faltan.

Mi valoración personal: A favor que es una apuesta segura y la voz de Dina es una total garantía y no le encuentro ningún pero a la canción. 9 puntos. 

15. SERBIA - Moje 3 - "Ljubav je svuda"

Moje 3 es el trío ganador de la final del Beosong 2013 y está compuesto por Mirna Radulović, Nevena Božović, y Sara Jovanović. Las tres fueron finalistas de la segunda edición del concurso "Prvi glas Srbije", similar a "La Voz". Poco después de salir del concurso formaron el grupo Moje 3.

"Ljubav je svuda" es el título de la propuesta serbia para Eurovisión y se puede traducir como "el amor está en todas partes". Ha sido escrita por Marina Tucakovic y compuesta por Saša Milošević Mare. Cada una de las chicas cumple un rol en la puesta en escena, así la chica rubia no puede decidir acerca de su vida amorosa; la chica de blanco es un ángel y recomienda a la anterior luchar por el amor mientras que la diablesa dice que no merece la pena luchar por el amor. Con una puesta en escena divertida nos ofrecen un tema entretenido al estilo del de hace un par de años.

Mi valoración personal: A favor que es una propuesta divertida, con una puesta en escena pensada y estribillo pegadizo y en contra que es un tema divertido pero sin grandes pretensiones. 7,2 puntos

16. UCRANIA - Zlata Ognevich - "Gravity"

La tempranera preselección ucrania tuvo lugar el pasado mes de diciembre y la cantante Zlata Ognevich consiguió el pasaporte a Malmö en una final con 20 participantes. Zlata está ligada a una familia militar y comenzó su carrera musical al servicio de los militares. Es el tercer intento de representar a su país y este año lo ha conseguido.

"Gravity" es el título de la balada que nos presenta y que, a mi juicio, está siendo sobrevalorada. Es cierto que ella cuenta con una gran voz pero los coros que la acompañan destrozan el encanto de la canción. No tiene nada de especial la canción que ha sido escrita y compuesta por Mikhail Nekrasov y Karen Kavaleryan.

Mi valoración personal: A favor tiene la gran voz e interpretación de Zlata y en contra tiene los coros y que la balada no me transmite tanto como otras propuestas. 8,2 puntos.

Semifinal 1: análisis de temas (3)

Vamos con la tercera tanda de canciones participantes en esta primera semifinal de Eurovisión 2013 que tendrá lugar el próximo mes de mayo.

9. IRLANDA - Ryan Dolan - "Only love survives"

 

Este joven norirlandés se ganó el derecho de representar a la isla esmeralda en "The Late Late Show" haciendo frente a varios temas excelentes que hubieran merecido también estar en Malmö. Consiguió la segunda mejor nota del jurado pero ganó el televoto. 

"Only Love Survives" es la propuesta compuesta por Wez Devine y el propio Ryan Dolan que presentará en Eurovisión; se trata de un tema pop-dance con varios cambios de registro en cuanto a la música. La propuesta es interesante pero flaco favor le hacen los coros a la canción. También he de destacar que al propio Ryan le cuesta llegar a algunas notas y se le nota un tanto forzado.

Mi valoración personal: A favor tiene que es un tema potente con cambios continuos que lo hace dinámico; en contra tiene el coro y la voz del cantante no es de lo mejor. 7,3 puntos.

10. LITUANIA - Andrius Pojavis - "Something"

Andrius Pojavis logró imponerse en el Eurovizijos durante las pasadas navidades y obtuvo el honor de representar a su país en Eurovisión. Comenzó su carrera a temprana edad y formó parte de un grupo llamado No Hero. Con el grupo Hetero consiguió ganar el concurso EuroRock en 2006 trasladándose a vivir a Irlanda durante un año donde potenció su faceta de solista. Después se trasladó a Italia a grabar su primer álbum. 

"Something" es el título de la propuesta indie rock que cantará en Malmö y que no me convence demasiado. He de confesar que no ha habido ni un solo año que me haya atraído tema alguno lituano y esto ya es preocupante. Quizás este año se hayan esforzado un poco más pero me sigue pareciendo una canción aburrida y extraña.

Mi valoración personal: A favor tiene que es un tema diferente como suele ser habitual en Lituania y en contra tiene que se hace aburrido y cuesta quedarse con la canción a la primera. 5,5 puntos.

11.  MOLDAVIA - Aliona Moon - "O Mie"

Aquí tenemos a una de las vocalistas del año pasado en el tema moldavo, quien ha logrado imponerse en la final de O Melodi Pentru Europa, y que repite este año como solista y con una canción compuesta por Pasha Parfeny, el último representante moldavo en Eurovisión. 

Aunque la canción se titula "A Million" parece ser que le versión que escucharemos en Malmö llevará el titulo "O Mie" y será interpretada en rumano. Se me hace raro que los moldavos hayan elegido una balada ya que todos sus temas han sido movidos en los últimos años. Esta balada es agradable de escuchar pero se me antoja un poco aburrida y creo que no tiene mucho que decir en Eurovisión en un año en el que nos encontramos tanta balada. Ahora bien, los moldavos son especialistas en pasar a la final, en el último momento.

Mi valoración personal: A favor, que finalmente apostarán por el rumano en vez del inglés; en contra, que es una balada muy previsible y algo aburrida. 6 puntos.

12. MONTENEGRO - Who See ft Nina Žižić - "Igranka"

Who See Kapla es un dúo de hip hop montenegrino que junto a Nina Žižić defenderán la bandera montenegrina en Eurovisión 2013. Este dúo recibió el año pasado el premio de MTV Europa al mejor artista Adriático y después la RTGC seleccionó internamente al dúo. 

"Igranka" es el título de este arriesgado tema que combina los sonidos hip hop y urbanos para presentar una propuesta diferente aunque difícil de interpretar en directo, lo que será un reto para este grupo. Los eurofans más jóvenes están entusiasmados con este tema que ha contado con una gran acogida. La gran incógnita será cómo sonará en directo, ¿será igual que en la versión de estudio?

Continuamos hoy con el análisis de otros 4 países más que participarán en esta primera semifinal de Eurovisión 2013.

5. CROACIA - Klapa S Mora - "Mižerja"d

La televisión croata realizó una elección interna y apostó por un sexteto masculino experto en música Kapla, una música tradicional de la región de Dalmacia. Está compuesto por:

Marko Škugor, del  klapa Kampanel (primer tenor)

Ante Galić, del klapa Sinj (segundo tenor)

Nikša Antica, del klapa Kampanel (primer barítono)

Leon Bataljaku, del  klapa Crikvenica (segundo baritono)

Ivica Vlaić, del klapa Sebenico (bajo)

Bojan Kavedžija, del  klapa Grdelin (bajo)

Este grupo se hace llamar como Klapa s Mora y espera sorprender al público eurofan con un tema tradicional titulado "Mižerja" y que nos reconcilia con esa música de aires balcánicos que nos ha acompañado algunos años. En esta ocasión, el tema no cuenta con tantos apoyos como en otras ocasiones pero siempre gusta escuchar un tema evocador, tradicional y bien interpretado más allá de los gustos personales.

Mi valoración personal: a favor, una canción compuesta en idioma croata y de gusto tradicional; en contra, el poco apoyo con que cuenta la canción y el precedente de otros temas que se antojan de mayor calidad. 6,8 puntos. 

6. DINAMARCA - Emmelie de Forest - "Only Teardrops"

Emmelie Charlotte-Victoria de Forest es la cantante danesa que se impuso en el Dans Melodi Grand Prix, que nada tiene que envidiar a un Festival de Eurovisión, y que se dice descendiente de la reina Victoria de Inglaterra, ya que su abuelo, el conde Maurice Arnold de Forest era hijo ilegítimo de Eduardo VII de Inglaterra.

"Only Teardrops" es el título de la canción que llevará Emmelie a la vecina ciudad de Malmö y se trata de un tema con toques celtas compuesto por Lise Cabble, Julia Fabrin Jokobsen y Thomas Stengaard y que logra un buen ritmo y nos quiere hacer pensar: es un tema melancólico que nos lleva a pensar en la esperanza en el futuro y habla de cómo nos tratamos entre nosotros y cómo tratamos al mundo. Es un tema único en cuanto a voz y espectáculo donde la línea narrativa la llevan los tambores y logra envolvernos en un ambiente místico. Emmelie logra conectar con el público.

Mi valoración personal: A favor, que es un tema muy efectivo y está el número uno en las apuestas de pago. Seguro que nos ofrecen un espectáculo impactante en directo. En contra, que no lo veo el tema ganador de este año y que hay algo que falta en el tema que me impide verlo ganador. 8,8 puntos

7. ESLOVENIA - Hannah - "Straight into love"

Hannah Mancini es una cantante americana que vive y trabaja en Eslovenia y que ya tomó parte en la preselección eslovena en 2011 con el tema "Ti si tisti". Este año ha sido seleccionada internamente por la televisión eslovena. Hannah ha trabajado en múltiples bandas sonoras para la casa Disney.

"Straight into love" es un tema dance compuesto por la propia Hannah , por Gregor Zemlijc, Erik Margan y Matija Primuzak y que no suena nada mal. Tiene varios cambios de ritmo pero su sonido suena algo pasado de moda. La versión que hemos escuchado es en play back y ya sabemos que en el directo se puede perder mucho.

Mi valoración personal: A favor tiene que es un tema de los que anima la noche ante tanta balada; en contra, que dudamos de que pueda tener un directo que suene como la versión en play back. 7,5 puntos

8. ESTONIA - Birgit Õigemeel - "Et uus saaks alguse"

Birgit es una cantante estonia que fue la primera ganadora del concurso de talentos "Eesti otsib superstaari" y en 2007 se convirtió en la primera persona no italiana en ganar el concurso cultural "L'Olivo de Oro". Este año se ha impuesto en la preselección estonia Eesti Laul a otros nueve finalistas.

"Et uus saaks alguse" es el título de la balada que ofrece para Malmö y que puede traducirse como "un nuevo comenzo". Es una balada de indiscutible calidad pero que se me antoja un tanto aburrida como para que pueda sorprender en Eurovisión a estas alturas.
