OGAE Song Contest 2009 (2)

Aprovecho que estoy de reposo para continuar con la segunda tanda de países que participan este año en el OGAE Song Contest de Croacia. Sí, he vuelto a pescar un virus raro que me está dejando el estómago para el arrastre. Desde el pasado sábado no me encuentro bien y es sorprendente lo que mutan los virus de un año a otro porque unas veces atacan la garganta, otras los riñones y otras el pecho. En fin, habrá que pasarlo como mejor se pueda.

Estoy preparando una serie de eurocrónicas sobre "música mágica en Eurovisión" donde veremos las canciones que nos transportan a otros mundos desde 1990 a 2009 y necesitaré de vuestra colaboración, votando en dos tablas de países. Pero ya os iré contando los detalles. De momento, seguimos con nuestro análisis de países participantes en este concurso.

6. SUECIA -SONJA ALDÉN - "Nån som du"

¿Qué seguidor del Melodifestivalen no conoce a Sonja Aldén? Pues este año participa en este concurso con un tema que podemos traducir como "Alguien como tú". Ha participado en la preselección sueca en 2006 con "Etymon", tema que no logró pasar a la final y en 2007 con el tema "Föt att du finns" que finalizó en sexto lugar.

Nos presenta ahora una preciosa balada que comienza parecida a una banda sonora de film y que nos arrastra a una ensoñación muy relajada. Bonito tema que no es del otro mundo pero que tiene un encanto especial.

7. LÍBANO - ALINE LAHOUD - "Habook Ayooni"

Aline es una cantante muy conocida en Líbano y es hija de la cantante Salwa Katrib. Nosotros la conocemos porque fue seleccionada para participar en el Festival de Eurovisión de 2005 en Kiev con el tema "Quand tout s'enfuit" pero finalmente el país se retiró del festival porque no podían garantizar la transmisión sin interrupción de la actuación de Shiri Maymon, por Israel.

Ahora presenta un tema titulado "Mis ojos te amaron" con un sonido tradicional libanés y la preciosa voz de Aline. Sonidos muy mediterráneos combinados con una voz modulada al gusto árabe. Es mi estilo de música pero sé que lo tendrá difícil para ganar porque estos rítmos no gustan mucho por el norte de Europa. La letra y la música es de Haytham Zayat, Tony Saba, y Amro.

8. ISRAEL - SHIRI MAYMON - "Chelek Mimcha"

¡Qué casualidad! Iban a coincidir Aline y Shiri en Eurovisión y no pudo ser. Ahora, nuevamente, el destino las une en un mismo concurso. Shiri estuvó en Kiev interpretando el tema "Hasheket Shenishar" (El silencio que permanece) consiguiendo un espléndido cuarto puesto. Ahora nos presenta otra balada, no tan intensa, que podemos titular como "Una parte de ti" compuesta por Michal Bachar y Dor Daniel.

Es una balada que, estando bien, va a decepcionar a muchos porque ya tenemos como referencia la espléndida balada que interpretó en Kiev y que nos dejó a tod@s boquiabiertos. No hay tanta pretensión en este nuevo tema.

9. FINLANDIA - ANTTI TUISKU - "Juuret"

Desde el Polo Norte llega este joven que nació en Rovaniemi (Laponia) y que consiguió la fama en el programa de Idols en 2003. ¡Vaya con la globalización! Todos los países tienen su versión de este concurso. Aunque finalizó tercero en el concurso fue el que alcanzó más fama de los tres finalistas. ¿Os suena a algo?

Ha conseguido vender más de 170.000 álbumes de los seis que ha sacado al mercado y ahora le presentan a este concurso con un tema que se titula "Juuret" (Raíces) con marcado carácter ecologista, música algo animada pero rítmo algo aburrido para mi gusto.

10. ESTONIA - VIOLINA & LENNA KUURMAA - "Sellel ööl"

Lena Kuurmaa es una cantante estona que conocemos como componente del grupo Vanilla Ninja, que estuvieron en Eurovisión con el tema "Cool Vibes". Por su parte, Violina es un trío de chicas violinistas - las de la foto superior - que actuán con violines electrónicos en sus directos.

Nos traen un tema cuyo titulo se puede traducir como "Esa noche" que comienza con sonidos muy actuales pero que nos trae recuerdos del pop de los 80. Es un tema que tiene encanto y se deja escuchar muy bien, con un estribillo que engancha y a mí me recuerda en ocasiones a música de Madonna. ¡Ojo con este tema, aunque esté cantado en finés!

Hasta aquí el análisis de los cinco países que tocaban. Hasta ahora los dos temas que más me llaman la atención son: Finlandia y Líbano. ¡Para gustos, los colores!

OGAE Song Contest 2009 (1)

Antes del verano vimos los temas representantes de este año para OGAE Second Chance 2009 pero los socios de OGAE Spain también participamos en otro concurso llamado OGAE Song Contest 2009 donde se elige un tema del panorama nacional musical. Este año el evento se celebra en Croacia ya que fue la ganadora del año pasado en España con "Ruza u Kamenu" de Franka Batelic.

OGAE comenzó su andadura en el año 1984 en Finlandia para dar cabida a todos los clubs de fans de Eurovisión en Europa y resto del mundo, por lo que no es de extrañar encontrar países como Líbano, Resto del Mundo, representado este año por Guayana, además de Italia, que abandonó Eurovisión en 1997 pero sus eurofans siguen al pie del cañón.

Actualmente el griego Antonis Karatzikos es coordinador general de OGAE Internacional desde 2007 y hasta 2011.

España ha ganado este certamen en cuatro ocasiones: 1995, 1996, 1997 y 2007 siendo el país que más veces ha acabado en el número 1.

Este año participan 30 temas elegidos por votación entre los socios de cada una de las organizaciones nacionales OGAE. Y durante estos próximos días analizaremos los temas que se presentan a concurso. Empezamos:

1. GRECIA - Mando - "Ston Egokero"


Nuestar conocida eurovisiva Mando participó en el Festival de 2003 con el tema "Never Let You Go" finalizando en el puesto 17, a pesar de tener una actuación inmejorable. Esta vez ha sido elegida por OGAE Grecia para que cante un tema titulado "En Capricornio". El tema de su álbum "Mando II" contiene temas de corte rock y ahí podemos encontrar este tema que ha sido compuesto por Kostas Anadiotis y la letra es de Nikos Katsikas.

"Ston Egokero" es un tema que combina sonidos electrónicos con un estribillo potente y rockero que da como resultado una canción con encanto cuya guinda la pone la voz de Mando.

2. UCRANIA - BOOMBOX - "Naodinci"

Esta popular banda ucraniana está compuesta por Andrey Khlyvnyuk, Andrey Samoylo y Valyk Matiyuk. Han sido elegidos para este concurso con un tema titulado "Naodinci" que podemos traducir como "Todo solo" o "Ahora tú estás sola". Se trata de un tema de guitarra acústica de ritmo algo plano y que no me dice nada si bien es agradable de escuchar. Tanto la letra como la música ha sido compuesta por Boombox.

3. RESTO DEL MUNDO (GUAYANA) - JESSICA XAVIER - "Don't Cry"

Este año Resto del Mundo está representado por una joven de 24 años que nació en Guayana y que se llama Jessica Xavier, el último producto de la factoria de la música. Presenta un tema titulado "Don't Cry" compuesto y escrito por ella misma. Es un tema lento, rítmico y muy llevadero que dice que cuando no hay nada más que decir, conoce a alguien porque todo va a salir bien. No es un tema de mi gusto y tampoco me parece original pero sí que es bonito.

4. AZERBAIYÁN - CHINGIZ MUSTAFAYEV - "Hatireler"

Aunque nació en Moscú después de la desintegración de la Unión Soviética Chingiz se trasladó con su madre a vivir a la ciudad de Qazax, en el oeste de Azerbaiyán. Le gusta la guitarra y la música española - flamenca. Pero ese es un reto que tiene pendiente y su estilo de música se define con matices ricos de su natal Azerbaiyán, flamenco y estilos arábigos. Ha participado en un festival flamenco de Córdoba, en nuestro país y tiene algún tema cantado en español.

No es el caso del tema que ha sigo elegido y que se titula "Hatireler" (Recuerdos). Es una balada muy bien interpretada pero que dudo tenga opciones de victoria en este certamen. Aunque bueno, eso es lo que decíamos el año pasado del tema que finalmente ganó.

5. BÉLGICA - WIM SOUTAER - "1000 Manieren"

Wim Soutaer es bien conocido en la comunidad flamenca y en todo el país gracias a su tercer puesto en el concurso Idols de 2003. Ha publicado tres álbumes y ahora nos canta uno de los temas del último y que se titula "1000 Manieren" (1000 Maneras). Es un tema que está bien aunque se me hace algo aburrido a medida que lo escuchamos. Está cantado en flamenco. Ha participado en este concurso los dos últimos años finalizando en segundo lugar.

Hasta aquí los primeros cinco participantes de esta edición. La verdad es que ninguno destaca en mis gustos pero si he de elegir uno me quedo con Mando. A ver qué temas nos encontramos el próximo día.

Malena Ernman presenta "La Voix du Nord"

"La Voix du Nord" o "La voz del norte" es el último álbum de la representante sueca de este año en Eurovisión, Malena Ernman. Incluye dos CDs , el primero incluye 11 temas de corte pop y el segundo incluye 11 arias. El álbum se lanzó el pasado día 1 de julio en Suecia. Debutó con el número 1 en el chart de álbumes del país nórdico y consiguió el disco de oro en su primera semana. En septiembre está previsto que consiga el disco de platino.

MI TEMA FAVORITO DEL ÁLBUM

Este álbum lo he descubierto gracias a mis amigos Fran y Karmelo, quienes ya se habían hecho con el último trabajo de la sueca. Ellos conocen bien mis gustos musicales, entre otras cosas, y sabían que había una canción que me iba a enganchar desde la primera vez que yo la escuchara.

Al igual que Nikos, que comparte gustos musicales conmigo en muchas ocasiones, me gustan los temas de corte étnico con mezcla y fusión de estilos tradicionales y modernos. La canción 1 del CD 1 titulada "One Step From Paradise" me obnubiló de tal manera que no reaccioné - íbamos en coche - hasta llegar a destino.

¿Qué opináis de este tema?. Nikos, ¿Te gusta a ti?. Wendy, supongo que no será de tu estilo pero hay que reconocer que tiene encanto. Manu, tú me tienes descolocado y no sé qué te parecerá este tema. Miguel Ángel, Berto, Antonio, Arantxa.., me gustaría saber vuestra opinión.



El tema comienza comienza con sonidos de corte andalucí-oriental y me evoca a La Alhambra de Granada. Cuando comienza a cantar Malena se la puede confundir perfectamente con el Jimmy Somerville aunque lógicamente no es él. El coro de voces viste al tema de una intensidad mágica que te envuelve. Sólo hay que cerrar los ojos para que te lleve hasta el paraíso.

Desde luego, este tema hubiera tenido mejor acogida en Eurovisión que "La Voix" aunque nunca se sabe por dónde transcurrirán los gustos del público.

Realmente me parece un tema mágico y precisamente de magia en la música hablaremos en próximas eurocrónicas.

Os recomiendo escuchar este álbum de Malena donde hay sorpresas muy agradables como este tema, "What Becomes of Love" o "Sempre Libera". Y a los aficionad@s a la ópera pues no se pueden perder el segundo CD.
